The Invisible Monument
Or how to question the representation of a collective memory chosen by the authorities and carried out by the architect.
Capitalist monuments, totalitarian monuments, democratic monuments, cultural monuments or monuments of mourning, if every document is a document of barbarism, every monument is too. The Invisible Monument is a proposal for a public space in Rotterdam South exhibited in the 2007 Rotterdam Biennale that instead of design defines strategies of public participation.
